The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding for eligible individuals with disabilities to access housing through Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). These are homes specifically designed to meet the needs of people with disabilities. The aim of providing SDA housing to participants is to make it more convenient for them to access support services. People with severe functional limitations will be able to live more independently in an SDA home as it helps to improve their functional capacity.

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) provides a safe, secure and customised home environment for participants with severe disabilities and functional impairments. These specially designed homes will help the participants to self-manage some of their daily tasks. The NDIS offers 4 types of specialised designs for disability accommodations. They are Improved liveability, Fully accessible, Robust and High physical support. These design categories refer to various specialised features that are included in the SDA homes depending on the disability support needs of the participant. Using various search filters, such as area, building type, and price range, you may locate SDA openings.
