The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides support and services that help people with disabilities to actively pursue their goals and to promote their community involvement. When the required assistance is available, it will encourage people with disabilities to pursue their interests and live the life that they want. This includes assistance with daily tasks which gets them ready to face the day and increases their confidence in themselves.

The NDIS participants can access help with their everyday activities through the NDIS support called Assistance with Daily Living. It is a service funded in the Core Supports budget of the participant’s NDIS plan. NDIS Assistance with Daily Living allows you to hire trained support workers who can come to your house and help you with your day-to-day activities. The support worker will assist you in preparing meals, taking care of your household chores and managing your personal care activities. As time progresses, you will improve your ability to take care of yourself and your home. Once you become as independent as you want in your everyday needs, you can reduce the amount of support you receive for Assistance with Daily Living and use that funding for other Core Supports such as Community Participation or Consumables. This is possible because of the flexibility of your Core Supports Budget.
