Introduced about a decade ago, ACIS (Australian Community Industry Standard) is the first nationally accredited (JAS-ANZ certified) standard that has been utilized by NDIS to develop its standards. ACIS is developed to apply a human-rights-based framework, align current contemporaneous and evidenced-based guidelines to its processes, and embed leadership, mental health, assistive technology, positive behavioral support, clinical governance, and person-centered care into one standard.
The ACIS standard uses international guidelines for sampling and auditing. All the auditors in ACIS are formally trained as lead auditors and assessed by JAS-NAZ. ACIS benefits disability, NDIS, aged care, private and insurance clients, and community care organizations so as to support continuity and provide streamlined processes.
